(And, happy me, of my 7 current PhD students (mostly co-supervised with Uli, of course), 4 are women, with even more DL Lunch regulars. It’s a comfortable balance.)

Of course, given that (in the US), women PhD graduates edged out men overall is interesting and a good sign. I’d like that the distribution in the graph reflects relatively benign inertia rather than still-persistent barriers…but I’m not sanguine about it.
